Privacy policy
The short version: nothing you enter in the Weft app is ever sent to us or anyone else. This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics or trackers. When you buy, Paddle processes your payment, and we keep your name, email and order number so we can give you your licence key.
Who is responsible
Victoria Fifield, San Francisco, California, United States, [email protected].
The Weft app
- Weft runs in your browser. Your clients, time entries, invoices, receipts and settings are stored in your browser’s storage (IndexedDB) on your device.
- Weft never sends what you enter anywhere: no analytics, no crash reports, no advertising, no licence checks. Its only requests go to wefthours.com, to load and update the app itself. Licence keys are verified offline on your device.
- Imports, PDFs and e-invoices are produced on your device. Files you choose are never uploaded.
- We have no copy of your data and cannot access it. Deleting the app’s site data in your browser deletes it.
This website
- No cookies, no analytics, no trackers. Your theme choice (Day or Night) is remembered in your browser’s local storage and never leaves your device.
- Hosting. The site and the app are served by Cloudflare, Inc. Like any web host, it processes technical data such as your IP address to deliver pages and protect against abuse, and keeps it only briefly. We do not use this data to identify you.
- Fonts and images are served from our own domain. The website makes no requests to other companies when you load it.
Buying a licence
- The checkout is provided by Paddle.com Market Limited (UK), our merchant of record. The Paddle script (
cdn.paddle.com) is loaded only when you click Buy or open a Paddle payment link. Once open, Paddle’s checkout may use cookies under Paddle’s own policy. - Paddle collects your name, email, billing address and payment details as an independent controller, to process the order and meet tax law, under Paddle’s privacy policy.
- After your purchase we receive your order number and fetch your name and email from Paddle. We use them to create your licence key (which contains your name, email, order number and dates), show it on your order page, email it to you, re-send it and handle refunds. Legal basis: performing our contract with you (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Without this data we cannot issue a key.
Emails to us
Emails to [email protected] are forwarded by Cloudflare Email Routing to our Google (Gmail) mailbox and used only to answer you (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR).
Who receives data
- Paddle.com Market Limited (UK): checkout, payment, tax and receipts.
- Cloudflare, Inc. (USA): hosting, email forwarding and the database that holds licence records.
- Resend, Inc. (USA): sending your licence key by email.
- Google LLC (USA): our mailbox.
We never sell or share personal information, and never use it for advertising.
International transfers
We are based in the United States, so your data is processed there. Cloudflare and Google are certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and its UK Extension. For Resend we rely on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK Addendum in its data processing agreement.
How long we keep it
We keep licence records (name, email, order number and key) while we sell Weft, so we can re-send your key. We delete them within 30 days if you ask; keep your own copy of the key first. Support emails are deleted 3 years after the conversation ends. Paddle keeps order records as tax law requires.
Your rights
You can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction or a copy of your data, and object to processing. Write to [email protected]. You can also complain to the data protection authority where you live or work; in the UK that is the ICO (ico.org.uk). We make no automated decisions or profiling with legal or similarly significant effects.
California
We do not sell or share personal information or use it for targeted advertising. We do not respond to Do Not Track signals because we do not track you across sites.
Changes
If this policy changes we update the date above, and for material changes we email licence holders.
